Copy Configuration Setup

The Copy Configuration feature in Cloud Connect CPQ for Salesforce allows users to copy configuration data from one record to another. You can implement this on both Opportunity and Quote objects. This guide explains how to add the required action to the layout and how to create a custom Screen Flow that enables user selection of a source record and initiates the copy process using the Copy Configuration subflow.

Create a Custom Copy Configuration Flow

The Copy Configuration capability is delivered as a managed subflow that requires two inputs: sourceId and destinationId. Create a Screen Flow to let users select the source record (Opportunity or Quote) and pass both IDs into the managed subflow. You will then expose the flow on the object record page using a Quick Action.

Flow and Variables Creation

  1. Navigate to Setup > Flows.

  2. Select New Flow.

  3. Select Screen Flow.

  4. In the Toolbox pane, select New Resource.

Create a Quick Action

To allow users to launch your flow directly from an object record page, create a Quick Action.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager > Opportunity > Buttons, Links, and Actions.

  2. Select New Action.

    NewAction.png

Only Action will work properly. Referencing this from a Button or Link will limit functionality.

  1. For Action Type, select Flow.

  2. Choose the Screen Flow you created.

  3. For the Label, enter Copy Configuration to Current Opportunity (or a label appropriate for Quote).

  4. Enter an API Name.

  5. Select Save.

Add the Quick Action to the Opportunity Layout

Use this option to surface the managed action directly on the object record page for end users. Add the packaged 'Copy Configuration to Current Opportunity' action to the layout.

  1. In Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Object Manager > Opportunity/Quote > Page Layouts.

  2. Select the required layout.

  3. Select Mobile & Lightning Actions in the toolbar.

  4. Drag Copy Configuration to Current Opportunity to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.

  5. Select Save.

If Dynamic Actions are enabled, see Adding Buttons to Layouts Using Dynamic Actions instead.

A View button on the Salesforce form to allow users to open the configurator in read-only mode. This enables users to review configuration details without the ability to modify any data.
Support for a Classic button is out of scope.
